The proposed community will be served by Fairfax County Public Schools. Specifically, the community will be served by Sunrise Valley Elementary School, Hughes Middle School, and South Lakes High School.

As part of the entitlement process the existing and future anticipated school capacity for the local schools will be studied. Regardless of the outcome, developments of this kind in Fairfax County pay school impact fees of $14,956 per student as a proffer. Fairfax County's formula assumes each townhome houses 0.47 students so for each townhome developed here the developer will pay approximately $7,478 towards FCPS.

FCPS and the developer are working together to assess whether there is demand for a new elementary school here and if so, whether there is a suitable site for it within the Lake Fairfax Business Center redevelopment.
